RV TRAVEL & LIFESTYLE
Over the past decade there has been a boom in RV Travel, people are hitting the road and travelling to places they have never been to before. With their RV Motor Home, they can travel anytime, anywhere and embrace the RV Lifestyle. The RV is a self sufficient vehicle, due to its efficient battery and a generator system. The benefit of travelling in an RV is driving from place to place without having to pack and unpack everything is self contained. If you are considering buying an RV you must do some extensive research before you buy.
RV Travel
Make sure know what type of RV is most suitable for you. If you are purchasing an RV for a retirement lifestyle and intend to use your RV for extended periods you will probably need a larger vehicle to accommodate the RV Accessories that you are sure to need. If the RV is only for vacation, maybe a smaller vehicle will suffice. Of course consideration must be made regarding the how many people are travelling, size of family or just you and your partner. A Recreational Vehicle can be a relaxing way to travel as long as it’s the vehicle that suites your needs. Another tip would be to hire an RV for your first trip or vacation just to be sure the RV Lifestyle is for you.
Driving your RV
When you have decided what type and size of RV you are going to purchase, will you be comfortable driving it? Driving
an RV, especially for the first time, can be quite intimidating, a few “test drives” are highly recommended, RV Driving is a whole lot different than driving the family car. Also depending in which country or what state you intend to be driving your RV, ensure you have the applicable licence and the RV is appropriately certified.
RV Accessories
Most RV’s and Travel Trailers already have the essential amenities already built in; such as slide outs for increased space, bathroom/shower, chemical toilet, kitchen area etc. There are other RV Accessories that are worth considering; satellite TV, skylights, extra refrigerator, stereo system, spare generator, awning, solar panels, etc.
RV Parks
RV Park amenities differ from place to place, a full resort style RV Park may have a swimming pool, on site restaurant, shopping, and much more, others may have just the bare necessities, maybe just a place to park and basic washing and toilet facilities. Before your trip do some online research of the various RV Parks that are on your route, see what amenities are available before you go. Also choose RV Parks that are close to what you want to see and do. Some RV Parks do have vehicle size restrictions, so make sure your RV will fit into the allocated parking space.
RV Travel Trailer, (Fifth Wheel)
An alternative to the RV or Motor Home is the Travel Trailer or Fifth Wheel. The Fifth Wheel Trailer is an RV Trailer or Camper that is hitched to a towing vehicle. The trailer unit is attached a plate over the towing vehicle. Depending on the size and weight of the Travel Trailer will determine the size and power of the towing vehicle. The Travel Trailer is similar to its RV counterpart regarding it’s in built amenities. As with the RV there are many different makes and models you can choose from. The main advantage of the Fifth Wheel Travel Trailer is you can unhitch the towing vehicle from the trailer and use it for excursions outside the RV Park or camp site.

RV Purchase Price
All RV’s and Travel Trailers vary in price based on the manufacturer, size and whether you purchase new or used. The cost of an RV or Travel Trailer can range from $15K to more than $100K. The higher the cost should mean a better quality of RV. So remember acquiring an RV is a substantial purchase, so knowing exactly which RV suites your needs and then research is the key to finding an RV that’s just right for you.
